My Lenovo laptop has crashed... I get BSOD with the error
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
then reboot... loop
Cant even get into the Thinkvantage menus by pressing the "Blue" button ...
Tried booting from my XP CD to use the recovery console... It claims it cant find the HDD. Is that because the drive is SATA? DO I need to load a SATA driver?

Yes, that can be the case. In your BIOS settings set the SATA Operation option to Combination. After that use the recovery console and type the following command
Chkdsk /r
This should fix this issue.
