System Restore Group Policy restrictions

I want to turn off my system restore but because i am getting a message "system restore is disabled by group policy", i am not able to do so.

  1. Click Start, Run and type GPEDIT.MSC
  2. Navigate to this path:-   Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> System Restore.
  3. Enable it.

When i tried to run gpedit.msc, windows gives an error "Windows cannot find 'gpedit.msc' ...".
plz help me...

So, try this you will surely solve the problem
  • Click Start, Run and type regedit.exe and press Enter
  • Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftWindows NTSystemRestore
  In the right-pane:
-> Delete the value DisableSR
->Delete the value DisableConfig

  • Exit the Registry Editor.
  • Now you can easily turn off/on your system restore.
